Heritage Bluffs Public Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Channahon, Illinois.
Heritage Bluffs Public Golf Club first opened for play in 1993.The course was designed by Dick Nugent.
The course was built on rolling terrain, so you can expect many uneven lies. The many tees located on ridges might cause you to alter your shots, and the fairways are lined by both wetlands and oak trees. Extensive mounding comes into play on the fairways and around the greens. "Golf Digest" has in the past rated this course this course in their list of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" and in their list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play."
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,106 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,967 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 573 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13, a par-3 that plays to 167 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 557 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 13, a 167 yard par-3.
From the mounded, links-style first hole, to the tree lined 18th, Heritage Bluffs has it all including elevation changes, lakes, bunkers and wetlands.

I am setup guy for my group of senior men and women golfers who have traveled to over 20 plus courses this season to date. Just got back from this course this past Wed. Most had not seen. All thought it was extremely challenging and difficulty target golf with lent has well. All were I pressed. We received senior special rates even though on a Wed. We stayed and ate afterwards in clubhouse. Great food, friendly service and they welcomed us. Only suggestion is that people running pro shop should come in to dining area after our round and just talk and mingle and show us they care. Questions about our liking of course would have been nice. Con was fact that traffic in and out to course on I55 was brutal. We will be back.

One the the best public courses your likely to find. Designed with the true spirit of golf in mind, this is a place you can still enjoy walking 18 holes well into your senior years. Offers a beautiful country club setting with a new challenge on every hole.

Took a chance last year and brought over a couple of groups from Crown Point to Heritage Bluffs. I discovered this course while driving over and riding bike on the Canal path. Even though it is far away from CP, we drove over and greatly enjoyed the course. Extremely challenging with location golf with great greens and challenging and protected areas. One of the best we have played while doing our travels. Only downfall has been the cost which is always above $30 for our seniors unless we can locate some specials at times at the course. We have already played Odyssey, Coyote Run and Green Garden this year which are outstanding. Heritage Bluffs is in that category but is always more expensive and farther away from our community. We want to make the trip again but are waiting for deals.

We play here in a weekly afternoon league during April-August and enjoy the course. With the early Feb. warm spell, course opened up for a few days and a couple of us were able to get out. Course was in surprisingly playable condition, including greens. Discount prices were offered.

We played from the Silver tees ( about 6000 yds) due to windy conditions and the course still challenging. Some holes have tight driving areas and many have challenging approach shots to the green. Fast greens and some but not unreasonable slopes on greens make chipping and putting both interesting and challenging. I would recommend this course to all levels of golfers who want to deal with challenges.
